Trademark registration is the process of legally protecting a brand through official trademark registration. By registering a trademark, a company can prevent others from using the same or a similar mark in a way that may cause confusion among consumers.

A trademark may consist of any sign, including words (including personal names), shapes, colors, letters, numbers, sounds, and the form of goods or their packaging, provided that it enables the goods or services of one undertaking to be distinguished from those of other undertakings and can be represented in the registry in a clear and precise manner so that the scope of protection granted to the trademark owner can be clearly understood.
